Yes. In Spain, there is a tax deduction on Personal Income Tax (IRPF) for people who install solar panels in their primary residence or in a homeowners’ association.
The deduction is regulated by Royal Decree-Law 19/2021 of September 27, which approves measures to promote the implementation of renewable energies in the electrical system and modifies Law 53/2003 of November 17, on the remuneration regime of electricity, and Law 24/2013 of December 26, on the electricity sector.
If you installed aerothermal systems in your home between October 2021 and December 2024, you can benefit from a tax deduction of up to €3,000 on Personal Income Tax (IRPF) when filing your tax return.
This deduction has several requirements:
20% Deduction: Applied if there is a minimum reduction of 7% in the sum of heating and cooling demand indicators, as specified in the Energy Performance Certificate.
40% Deduction: This option is available when the reduction is at least 30%. It also applies if the energy rating of the home reaches classes “A” or “B”.
60% Deduction: For residential buildings, this deduction is granted if there is a reduction in consumption of at least 30% or if the energy rating of the home is in classes “A” or “B”.
